Description
This is the luxury edition of our chinrest covers made from yellowish deer leather, which has been preserved using organic oil tanning (chamois tanning) and can be washed by hand with mild detergents. The deer skins are all slightly different. The leather is approximately 0.6 mm (0.024 inches) thick. The chinrest cover you order may have a slightly different texture than the one in the photo, but the colour and thickness will always be similar.
This chinrest cover was designed for players who find it comfortable to have the wood and the metal screws covered with a cloth, either because it absorbs sweat or because direct contact with the metal screws can cause allergies. The cloth has a flap on the back that is simply pulled over the chin rest and stays in place. The Guarneri model is specially tailored to this very commonly used chin rest and fits both violins and violas. The one-size-fits-all model fits various chin rests thanks to its rectangular cut.
